A huge SSO thank you to everyone who came along to our Orchestral Masterpieces Concert in RBAI last night.  Alongside works by Florence Price and Rachmaninoff, we were treated to a wonderful performance of Cimarosa's delightful Concerto for two flutes by Richard and Andrew Douglas - well done, gentlemen!

Congratulations to our leader Zuzanna and all our players and a special mention must go to our Principal Conductor Tanya Houghton. This was a challenging programme for an amateur orchestra with Rachmaninoff's Symphony No.2 being well-known for its tricky moments as well as its fabulous melodies and interplay between the various sections of the orchestra but, with Tanya's patience and guidance, the whole orchestra came together to produce a memorable performance.

Thank you also to everyone on the SSO committee for putting the whole concert together and to the family of our founder Dr Havelock Nelson who continue to support their father's legacy.
