Jenny BourkeDavid started playing trumpet at school at the age of 12 before going to study at The Royal Military School of Music (RMSM) Kneller Hall in Twickenham.  Primarily a wind player, he has also played in various ensembles and genre throughout the UK and Europe. 

David joined the Studio Symphony Orchestra in 2007 and became principal trumpet in 2009.  He also plays in various bands and would occasionally tutor at the City of Belfast School of Music.









Thomas Jackson studied as Chetham’s School Of Music followed by the Royal Northern College of Music where he graduated in the year 2000. Thomas quickly achieved a full time post in The Prague Philharmonia in the Czech Republic where he worked for over a year.  After Prague Thomas moved to London and has appeared with many of the country’s leading Symphony and Chamber Orchestras as a freelancer.  These include RPO, Philharmonia, RLPO, RSNO, BBC Scottish and Northern Sinfonia.  Thomas was also a member of Southbank Sinfonia and has led performances with them in many of the major venues in the UK and abroad. 

Thomas has appeared as soloist and director with Southbank Sinfonia and The Camerata of London.  In 2008 Thomas performed as soloist in Vaughan Williams Concerto Academico at The English Music Festival, Dorchester. He has been a member of the Ulster Orchestra since 2006 and performs chamber music regularly in Northern Ireland. 





Having concluded his studies with Professor Gregor Horsch at the Robert Schumann Hochschule and Hannah Roberts at the Royal Northern College of Music, David has enjoyed a successful and varied career as chamber musician, orchestral musician and soloist.

For ten years, David was a member of the Rhodes Piano Trio, 2nd prize winners in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition 2011. Represented by YCAT, the Rhodes Trio were recipients to all of the Royal Northern College of Music chamber music prizes as well as the Tunnell Trust for Young Musicians and the Elias Fawcett Award at the Royal Overseas League Competition. In their final year they performed at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Barbican, Melbourne Recital Centre, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Singapore and at the Schwetzinger, Aix-en-Prevence and Verbier Festivals. They also gave live performances on BBC Radio 3, SWR2 Germany, on ABC Classic FM Australia and released their CD recording of Schumann Piano Trios on Champs Hill Records to critical acclaim.

Enjoying success as a chamber musician, David has received several invitations to IMS Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music, played a recital in the Concertgebouw Kleine Zaal and appeared at the Aix-en-Prevence festival performing Saint-Saens 2nd Cello Concerto with the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq and Orchestre Francais des Jeunes.

Following his academy position with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, he has played in a number of professional orchestras in London both as section player and principal. David joined the Ulster Orchestra in May 2015.
